Can I go completely off-grid in the Hunter Valley region?

Yes — with the right combination of solar, battery storage, and backup generation, going fully off-grid is very achievable. The Hunter region receives strong solar irradiance, making it an ideal location for off-grid systems.

How much battery storage do I need to go off-grid?

The amount of storage depends on your daily energy use, how many days of autonomy you want (i.e., how many consecutive cloudy days the system can cover), and whether you have a backup generator. We calculate this precisely during your site assessment.

Do off-grid systems need a backup generator?

Not always, but a generator provides an important safety net during extended periods of low solar production. Many of our off-grid clients install a generator as a backup that kicks in automatically — it rarely runs, but gives peace of mind.

What happens if my off-grid system has a fault?

We provide ongoing support and monitoring for all our off-grid installations. Many issues can be diagnosed remotely, and for anything requiring a site visit, our local Hunter Valley team can respond quickly.

Can I add an EV charger to an off-grid system?

Yes, though it requires a system sized to handle the additional load. EV charging is very energy-intensive, so we'll factor this into the system design from the start if it's a requirement.
